Community Baby Shower at Children's Mercy

The Children’s Mercy Community Baby Shower Program partners with organizations across the Kansas City metro area to celebrate and support growing families. Through these partnerships, we help connect expectant and new parents with trusted information, community resources, and meaningful support networks.

Since 2012, we have partnered with the Black Health Care Coalition to co-host community baby shower events. Building on that long-standing collaboration, the program has expanded to include 20+ community partnerships to celebrate 2,000+ families through 30+ events in 10+ counties each year.

  • Buckle-Up Clinic: Safe Kids Greater Kansas City car seat program offered each month by appointment only

  • Safe Sleep, Safe Babies: A list of community partners and safe sleep educators that may have limited safe sleep materials available

  • Center for Childhood Safety: providing education and resources in our community to promote safety in the home, in the community, and on the go

  • Primary Care at Operation Breakthrough: a medical home for childrens at Operation Breathrough and the surrounding community

  • LiftUp KC: Search for free or reduced cost services like food, transportation, housing assistance, and more.

  • Promise 1000: Home Visiting Collective connects families to early childhood home visiting programs that are specially trained to provide in-home parenting support.

  • Healthy Homes: provides environmental health consulting, home assessments and indoor environmental investigations, conducts research, provides patient driven and evidence-based education.
