William Bednar, MD

William Bednar, MD, believes that listening is one of the best tools in the practice of medicine. By learning where patients are in their life journey, he can help them make the greatest positive impact on their own health care.

Whether working with patients to manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, elevated cholesterol, diabetes and pre-diabetes, or assisting with weight management, he encourages them to make a difference in their own lives. Dr. Bednar believes that preventative health care and healthy lifestyle changes can make the biggest differences in a person’s overall health and wellbeing.

Dr. Bednar is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and served as Chief Resident in his final year of residency at the University of Oklahoma/Tulsa Medical College.

For 23 years, Dr. Bednar served as a family physician at The Liberty Clinic in Liberty, Missouri. He continues to serve on the editorial staff of The Prescriber’s Letter and The Pharmacist’s Letter. In addition, he enjoys volunteering in the community and spending time with his wife and family.

Dr. Bednar joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in 2015.

Purnima Mohan

Purnima Mohan, MD

Purnima Mohan, MD, believes in a strong doctor-patient relationship where both individuals work toward the goal of health maintenance. Dr. Mohan feels that patient education, along with a team approach, often helps her patients achieve their desired outcomes. She takes great satisfaction in helping her patients manage their chronic medical conditions, such as hypertension, diabetes and depression.

Dr. Mohan is a board-certified family physician and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Toronto, with a focus on addictions counseling. She earned her medical degree from Universidad Ibero Americana in the Dominican Republic and completed her residency training at The Goppert Trinity Family Care program in Kansas City, Missouri.

Dr. Mohan practiced family medicine in Belton, Missouri, before joining the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in 2014.

Keona Stephens

Keona Stephens, FNP

Keona Stephens, FNP, believes in building relationships with her patients. Her goal is to help patients make choices that will enhance their quality of life. She strives to motivate and educate patients to practice a healthy lifestyle, prevent disease and manage chronic conditions. Keona provides compassionate care and practices a healthy lifestyle, believing this will have a positive impact on patients.

Keona received her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Missouri Western State University and her master’s degree in nursing at the University of Missouri Kansas City.

She has two years of experience with the Samuel U Rodgers Health Center, providing primary and urgent care to all age groups and cultures, as well as chronic condition management and health promotion. Keona also worked at a Walgreens Take Care Clinic, where she provided urgent care.

Keona joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in 2013.

Dolly Bloom, APRN

Dolly Bloom, APRN

Dolly Bloom, APRN, believes health promotion and disease prevention are the foundation of good health care. Her goals are to collaborate with patients to achieve their health goals and always try to live by the Golden Rule: Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

Dolly, who has been a Nurse Practitioner for 22 years, enjoys working with the Take CARE Employee Clinic’s client population. She loves their diversity and passion for caring for children.

Dolly joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy full-time in 2020 after working PRN since the clinic opened in 2013.

Lauren Prout

Lauren Prout, Pharm.D.

Lauren Prout, Pharm.D. believes in the strategic integration of pharmacy services into a whole health approach. She strives to optimize patients' health care outcomes using her up-to-date knowledge, as well as her effective customer service and communication skills.

She attended the University of Missouri and graduated from University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Pharmacy, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy.

Dr. Prout previously worked as a Pharmacist in Charge at Target in the Washington, D.C., area. While at Target, she spearheaded highly successful community health and guest experience improvement programs.

She joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in 2013.

Shelby Miller, MS, RD, LD

Shelby Miller, MS, RD, LD, believes health is not synonymous with weight and focuses on a health-at-every-size approach to wellbeing. She promotes Intuitive Eating, an evidenced-based health approach designed to help patients develop a healthy and balanced relationship with food by either cultivating or removing obstacles to body awareness. Shelby wants her patients to feel like they can stop restricting food intake and instead focus on consuming balanced nutrients that are best for improving their specific health conditions.

Shelby received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska and completed her master’s degree and dietetic internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Previously, Shelby worked with patients with a variety of health conditions like heart disease, diabetes and gastrointestinal disorders at the University of Kansas Health System.

She joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in late 2021.

Rachael Thurman, PT. DPT

Rachael Thurman, PT, DPT

Rachael Thurman, PT, DPT, is passionate about the restoration of healthy movement patterns, pain reduction and improvement of function in individuals suffering from painful injuries, surgery or chronic conditions. She appreciates the relationships that she builds with her patients and feels strongly about patient education and understanding of their condition. She loves to learn new techniques/services and keep up with the latest in research so she can provide patients with the most effective and efficient treatment methods.

Rachael is a licensed physical therapist in Missouri and Kansas. She received her undergraduate degree in sports science and her doctorate degree in physical therapy, both from Rockhurst University. Rachael is certified in applied functional science and dry needling.

Prior to joining the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy, Rachael worked in several areas of physical therapy, including acute, inpatient rehab, outpatient orthopedics and workers’ compensation. She has worked at Menorah Medical Center and most recently at ARC Physical Therapy +.

Rachael joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in 2020.

Brad McGuire

Brad McGuire, RN, BSN, EMT-P

Brad McGuire, RN, BSN, EMT-P, is responsible for clinical operations. He guides the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy staff by using sound clinical workflows, the latest technology and innovation to benefit patients.

Brad aims to help establish the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy as a medical home for all patients by using the evidenced-based practice model and clinical experience, considering patient preferences and empowering staff.

He received his bachelor's degree in nursing and master’s degree in legal studies from Webster University. He received his pre-hospital/paramedic training at Creighton University.

Before joining the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy, Brad worked at Cerner as a Senior Solution Designer for the Order and Plans Development organization. Prior to Cerner, Brad was a critical care, emergency services and perioperative nurse.

Brad joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in 2016.

Bridget Sharp

Bridget Sharp, Health Center Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy. She drives initiatives and innovations to help facilitate proactive collaboration between health care providers and patients. She strives for patient-centered health care with excellence in quality, service and access.

Bridget received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Park University.

Before joining the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy, Bridget was the Clinical/Workflow Consultant for Cerner on Workforce Health Services. She also has worked in several other health care areas, including in a lab setting and emergency medicine.

Bridget joined the Take CARE Employee Clinic and Pharmacy in 2021.

Craig Caspari, LMFT

Craig received a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Saint Louis University. He also received a master's degree in business administration from The University of Missouri. Craig works with individuals, couples, and families, striving to build a safe and nonjudgmental environment that allows for open communication. He uses evidence-based practices to assist in achieving your preferred goals. He specializes in relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, personal growth, and self-esteem. For self-care, Craig enjoys woodworking, travel, playing/watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.

Debra Richardson, LCSW, LSCSW

Debra Richardson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She is licensed in both MO and KS. Debra attended the University of Kansas and received her Masters degree in Clinical Social Work. Debra has over 25 years’ experience in a variety of mental health settings. Debra enjoys working with Individuals, Families and Couples and is honored to be a part of the healing and growth of others. Debra specializes in treating depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. She uses evidence-based treatment approaches including CBT, DBT and trauma-informed therapy. Debra's goal as a therapist is to normalize counseling services and facilitate a safe environment for mental health services.

For self-care, Debra enjoys reading, working out, listening to music, especially jazz and spending time with family and friends.
