The Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine (PRM) Fellowship at Children's Mercy is a two-year ACGME-accredited fellowship designed to develop advanced skills in the diagnosis and treatment of children with disabilities. We offer a variety of clinical and educational experiences designed to develop leaders in the field of pediatric physiatry.

Our goal is to develop well-trained pediatric physiatrists, capable of providing exceptional care to children with disabilities. The fellowship program creates and maintains an environment in which the fellow receives the highest quality of education with evidence-based teaching and multiple clinical and non-clinical opportunities available. A fellow’s educational program is customized to meet each individual’s needs and best prepare the fellow for clinical practice, research, leadership, and beyond.

Our fellows participate in a broad range of outpatient clinics as well as inpatient and consultation services. We offer specialized training in all major areas of pediatric physiatry.

The PRM curriculum is designed to advance each fellow’s knowledge and clinical skills to become a leader in the field. Educational opportunities include faculty-led didactics, subspecialist didactic series, journal clubs, grand rounds, and multidisciplinary conferences. We also offer several individualized educational opportunities to allow each fellow to focus on his/her individual interests.
