Academic Curriculum
Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship
Fellows participate in weekly educational sessions, which utilize active learning techniques, covering all areas of endocrine physiology and pathophysiology. These educational sessions are divided into 11 blocks covered over 18 months and address advances in the pathophysiology, molecular biology, diagnosis and management of endocrine disorders.
Learning occurs in an encouraging environment in which fellows are asked to identify gaps in knowledge, collaborating with other fellows and attending physicians to close those gaps. Fellows also spend time at a variety of Children's Mercy regional and outreach sites, where faculty members employ educational methods which further diagnostic and clinical reasoning.
