Children’s Mercy MyChart
Introducing MyChart
Beginning March 1, Children’s Mercy will be using MyChart to help keep your family healthy and informed. MyChart is a digital health records tool you can use online, through the Children’s Mercy app or through the MyChart app. It will replace the current MyChildrensMercy Patient Portal.
With all your Children’s Mercy info in one place, you’ll be able to:
- Link multiple patient accounts
- Message care teams
- Manage appointments
- Request prescription refills
- See health records
- And more!
Your family’s existing info will move to MyChart automatically, but you’ll need to enroll to view it. Enrollment begins soon. We're excited to help you get started in person or online.
Frequently asked questions
Online sign-up will begin in February. You can sign up in person starting March 1.
You don’t have to have a MyChart account for your child to receive care at Children’s Mercy. You can communicate with us without an account, and you’ll be able to use some MyChart features without enrolling.
But MyChart makes interacting with Children’s Mercy and your care team faster and simpler. We recommend signing up!
Your child’s health information — including their symptoms, diagnoses, appointment history, medications and more — will automatically move to MyChart. Messages between you and your care team will not move from the Patient Portal to MyChart.
You will be able to view these messages, along with your other information, in the Patient Portal until June 2026. We recommend printing a PDF or hard copy of messages you’d like to save before then.
All new health information will go to MyChart, not the Patient Portal, beginning on March 1.
You will need a new MyChart account to access your family’s Children’s Mercy information. But once your Children’s Mercy account is set up, you can link multiple accounts within MyChart.
With a caregiver’s permission, children 13 to 17 can have their own MyChart account. Parents and caregivers will still be able to see their child’s health information, even if their child has their own account.
Once a patient turns 18, they will need to sign up for their own MyChart account. (They can give their caregiver access to it if they choose.) We will help you and your child through this transition.
