Make a Referral
If you are looking to make a referral, we offer the tools and resources to help you find the services you need. Children’s Mercy supports multiple secure referral pathways. You can choose what works best for you.
EpicCare Link: Secure, free, web-based portal, can be used with or without your EHR and can complement other pathways.
Epic-to-Epic Referrals: For practices using Epic: send referrals from your Epic EHR with closed-loop referral workflows/updates.
Direct Messaging: For non-Epic EHRs with Direct capabilities: send referrals and clinical documentation via standards-based exchange.
Fax: Fax remains available, webform requisitions are no longer available.
Clinic appointments
All new appointment requests are processed within 48 hours. Two phone attempts and a final notification to schedule will be made.

Scheduling hours:
- Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Surgery scheduling
Surgery scheduling is intended for community providers with privileges at Children’s Mercy facilities. If you are referring a patient to be seen by Children’s Mercy Surgery department, please select Surgery above.
