This study is for: • Patients who had or will have genetic (DNA) testing done through Children's Mercy. • Patients who are able to agree to provide in-home lab bio-sample(s) ( Blood, Saliva or Cheek swab, Urine) The purpose of this study is to learn how to better match children with medications and doses that are safer and will work for them.

This study is for people: • Who had greater than or equal to 6 days of exposure to treatment doses of Bactrim • Who developed severe respiratory complications or lung failure leading to an ICU admission with need for oxygen, a ventilator and/or ECMO • Had no other reason found for their respiratory failure The goal of this study is to further define the lung failure process the follows that can rarely follow Bactrim exposure. There are several well understood adverse reactions to Bactrim but severe lung failure is only recently recognized and reported. Researchers need to evaluate more patients to understand why this rare reaction happens to some children and not others.
