This study is being done for adolescents/young adults/adults: * 12-35 years old. * Newly diagnosed Type I Diabetes. This study is being done for patients: • Age: 12 years and older • Recent Diabetes type 1 diagnosis (within the last 100 days) People with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) do not have enough insulin. Insulin controls a type of sugar called glucose in the body. If the body has too much glucose, it can cause damage to it. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the new study drug, SAB-142, is safe and helps people with T1D. SAB-142 is not insulin and it will be given in addition to insulin treatments already prescribed.

The overall objective of this study is to perform baseline and repeat assessments over time of the metabolic and immunologic status of individuals at risk for type 1 diabetes (T1D) to: (a) characterize their risk for developing T1D and identify subjects eligible for prevention trials, (b) describe the pathogenic evolution of T1D, and (c) increase the understanding of the pathogenic factors involved in the development of T1D.
