About the Study
Multi-Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS): Research including children with MODS and looking at their unique immune function
This research includes children: • Who have a severe infection called sepsis, which is causing two or more organs to work poorly (MODS). When sepsis and MODS happen, the child's immune function may be too low and/or the amount of inflammation in the body organs may be too high. At this time, only a research laboratory can do this special testing to determine a child's unique immune function. As part of this research study, a blood sample is sent to the research laboratory to get results of the child's unique immune function and level of inflammation.
